50th Anniversary Donation to

Project Ability

In looking at ways to mark our 50th anniversary, GAFAS was keen to share the society’s good fortune by making a one-off £5,000 donation to a local charity with an arts connection where it might help to make a difference.

We chose Project Ability which uses art to improve the lives and well-being of children and adults with disabilities or mental ill-health. It connects artists with communities, promotes their work and has a fully-accessible venue in Glasgow’s city centre. Despite being accessed by over 300 people per week, it currently has a waiting list and our donation will help to reduce this.

We were delighted that Elisabeth Gibson, their Executive Artistic Director was able join us at our October 2024 meeting to receive our cheque. We know that it is money that is going to be well-spent.
