8.45am Prompt departure from Cowcaddens Rd, opposite the main bus station, university side of the road
10.15am – 10.45 Coffee at Buccleuch & Queensberry Arms Hotel, Thornhill
11.45am Privately commissioned lecture by Curator Amanda Harris, Kirkcudbright Art Gallery, on Eye to Eye: Sir Henry Raeburn’s Portraits, with time to view exhibition
1.30pm Soup and sandwich lunch at The Selkirk Arms Hotel, High Street, Kirkcudbright
2.30pm NTS Broughton House, E.A Hornel’s studio, gallery and garden. This is optional: NTS member’s free, non-members £7.50. Alternatively, Kirkcudbright is a very pretty ‘artist’ town to wander around.
4.00pm Depart Glasgow, arriving about 6.00pm, traffic permitting
Cost: £45 – includes coach, coffee, curator’s talk and soup and sandwich lunch.
To cover basic costs, there is a £20 non-refundable deposit, but please make full payment on booking.
Notice is required for any member who has a special dietary requirement.
Members are advised to bring a raincoat and / or umbrella and suitable footwear. If the weatehr is adverse, we may leave earlier.
